I had hoped to get some extra sleep since I had stayed up so late, but the fucking heat made that impossible. I can stand sleeping in the heat, but when you add humidity to the mix, it absolutely kills my comfortability. I got up, got something to drink, and plunked myself down in front of the Xbox 360. I thought about going somewhere fun and killing time before work, but mom had my car and wasn’t going to be home any time soon.

While killing daemons and bandits in Oblivion, I started up a text message conversation with Lauren. She didn’t have anything to do tonight, so I invited her down to the drive-in to hang out with me. She agreed. I also shot a call off to Jeff G. about tomorrow’s meeting for the upcoming 48HFP. We decided on a 7 p.m. meet time, and we hung up.

I hate getting sucked into RPG’s because I will spend the time going through and completing all the side quests. Seeing as this is my 2nd attempt at beating Oblivion, I know what to do for most of the side missions. This made it easier for me to progress through stuff and get to the good missions. The only thing it doesn’t do is make it any less of a time killer. Before I knew it, it was time to get ready for work. I didn’t even have time to conquer it before I had to leave, so I just took a shower and tossed some clothes on.

I stopped by 7-11 really quickly to get a rockstar and I found JB in the parking lot changing some trash bags. We hugged and spent a few minutes talking about life. She had always been asking me about being in one of my films. I told her about the 48HFP and asked what her availability was. She had to work, so she couldn’t help out. She was bummed. I told her I’d find something for her to do in the future, said goodbye, and rolled down the street to theater.

The owner showed up right after I opened the box office and got on my case about getting the money out of the box office as quickly as possible. I wanted to point out the small fact about how discretion is key in these kind of matters, and that having me take large sums of money out of the box during the opening rush is just stupid…then I thought about how I just wanted to get through the next 8 hours and start my weekend.

Right after I got the movies started the owner came upstairs and asked me if I had taken a leak in the bushes last night. I told him that I did. He told me how Ray was whining at home about it and how I shouldn’t do it because I was a manager. I told him that I was sorry and he asked me to not give Ray and his girlfriend any more ammo for them to bitch about. I told him I would, he thanked me, and then left.

The rest of the night went by really quickly, I was trying to find time to get some more research done on Steampunk, but because of how busy it was, I kept having to make runs to and from the box office, so I couldn’t sit down and read. Lauren text messaged me and had to cancel our plans because something came up. I told her not to worry and that we’d reschedule (and I was hoping that her not coming down would give me more time to read). We decided to meet up on Tuesday night for dinner.

With all the distractions of the night, I didn’t have the energy to read after I finished the nightly paperwork, so I tossed in my copy of RAMBO (the new one) in the laptop and watched it. What I love about that movie is that it sends a great message while showing me 289 gory deaths. Good times.

When THE DARK KNIGHT finally ended, I locked the place up, took the money to the bank, and went home to go to bed.
