Mom woke me up at noon when she got me up so I could take her down to the car rental place, so she could rent a car for the weekend. She had been checking Craigslist and other websites for used cars she could buy, and she wanted to use the rental car as the transportation. I had no problem with this because it meant that I got my car all to myself and wouldn't be stuck at home.
I tossed some clothes on and drove her down to the rental car place. She didn't need me to stay with her, so I dropped her off and drove down the street to GameStop to see my peeps. Alex G. and Kevin S. were there, so I chatted with them for a while before parting ways.
I hit up the bank on the way home to deposit my paycheck, and then I grabbed some lunch at Rosarito's before heading home. At home, I ate lunch while watching the new episode of BURN NOTICE. After eating, I washed my hands and played GTA 4 until I had to get ready for work. I conquered it, showered, and jumped in the Merc.
We were opening STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS tonight, and we all expected a huge turnout for it. We were wrong. There weren't many customers, and I had TOO many employees hanging around and doing nothing. The owner showed up and told me to start sending people home after the movies started. So I did. With half my workers gone, I hung out with the guys at the box office for a bit, and when THE MUMMY 3 started, I jumped in my car to watch that.
Lauren called me during the movie and since I wasn't really digging it (too many plot holes), I ended up chatting with her for a half hour. We talked about all sorts of things, but the bulk of our conversation dealt with the idea of being in a relationship or not. We ended the conversation with an "undecided" vote.
After THE MUMMY, I drove over to STAR WARS, quickly emptied the trash cans, and watched the movie with Bob. I had been reading reviews about how crappy THE CLONE WARS was all week long, but I quite enjoyed the movie. It was a total set up piece, and even though it "flubbed" some of the things from Episodes 2 and 3, it did a good job of creating a dynamic between the new and old characters. My only real complaint was Jabba's uncle who seemed like a very gay version of the Godfather. Other than that, I thought it had a ton of action, comedy, and it was the start to something bad ass and awesome.
After the movie, I finished up my job, clocked out, and went home to get some sleep for tomorrow's film festival.
